Troy Hoover is an illustrator and a lifetime resident of upstate New York. Troy’s passion for art began at an early age and has been developed his whole life. After graduating high school in 2000 at Saratoga Springs High School in Saratoga Springs, NY, Troy attended the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. RIT is the leading school in New York for New Media Arts and Design and there Troy learned valuable skills and graphic design principles with many computer programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver, and many more. A handful of years after RIT Troy found out about The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art, recently renamed “The Kubert School”, in Dover, NJ. The school specialized in illustration and comic book/narrative art. Troy’s favorite artwork to create is anything that has a story or narrative behind it be it comics, games, book covers, posters, or storyboards, so he applied to attend the school the following fall. In 2008 Troy started at The Kubert School where he was taught by working professionals in the fields of fine art, fantasy art, American comics, and freelance advertising illustration and design. Troy was trained starting from the basics of illustration, painting, anatomy, narrative art, layout, and hand lettering and continued to train at higher levels for the next 3 years. Troy graduated in 2011 and has since worked on various freelance art projects. Troy is trained in many different facets of art and loves learning or trying something new and looks forward to working with other artists.
